Unit: PICU – # beds: 8–average census 2 – Certs: BLS, PALS – Ratios: 1 to 2 – EMR: Cerner – Charge Nurse: Rarely – Nurse Aides: None – Weekend Requirement: Every other – Holidays: 2 out of 3 – Scrub Color: Navy Blue – Tele: Spacelab tele monitors, nurses must read own strips – Vents: Yes – Peds Hospitalist Intensivist in house: Yes, in house 24/7 – IV Team: None – RT 24/7: Yes – Pharmacy 24/7: Yes – Call: If census low and scheduled, may be asked to be on standby – Shifts: 7a ,7p – Floating: general peds and burn – Floor specific orientation: 2 shifts PICU, 1 shift peds, 1 shift burn (for peds) – Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Respiratory failure, dehydration, seizures, suicide attempts, Ods, posioning – Additional Notes: MINIMUM 2 years PICU experience; use medfusion pumps
1. Current and valid state RN License.
2. Current BLS (AHA) certificate
3. Current PALS (AHA) certificate
4. Previous Acute Care hospital experience
5. Ventilator Management experience preferred.
6. CERNER EMR experience preferred
